Miar Peak and Miar Glacier

 MIAR PEAK




Miar Peak is a mountain in Hispar Valley in the Gilgit District of Northern Areas of Pakistan. It lies southeast of Diran peak (7,257 m) and northwest of Malubiting peak (7,428 m).

Miar Glacier is a glacier that forms in the north of Miar Peak (6,824 m (22,388 ft)) in Hoper Valley in Nagar, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.

Chogolisa Peak

Chogolisa (or Bride Peak) is a mountain in the Karakoram region of Pakistan. It lies near the Baltoro Glacier in the Concordia region which is home to some of the highest peaks of the world.

Chogolisa has several peaks, the highest on the SW face (Chogolisa I) rises to 7,665 metres (25,148 ft). The second highest at 7,654 metres on the NE side (Chogolisa II) is the one named Bride Peak 

In 1958, a Japanese expedition from Kyoto University led by T. Kawabara made the first ascent of Chogolisa II, placing M. Fujihira and K. Hirai on top


The first ascent of Chogolisa I was made on August 2, 1975 by Fred Pressl and Gustav Ammerer of an Austrian expedition led by Eduard Koblmuller. Koblmuller almost suffered the same fate as Buhl, as he also fell through a cornice on the ascent; fortunately, he was roped and team members were able to pull him to safety

Kanjut Sar Peak


Kanjut Sar is a mountain located in the Hispar Muztagh, a subrange of the Karakoram mountain range. It lies within the Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan. It is the 26th highest mountain on Earth and the 11th highest in Pakistan.

Kanjut Sar has Prominence of 1,660 m (5,446 ft). Kanjut Sar consists of two peaks:

  1. Kanjut Sar I  is at  an elevation of 7,760 metres (25,459 ft).
  2. Kanjut Sar II, to the south east of I, is at an elevation of 6,831 m (22,411 ft).

Kanjut Sar is difficult to climb. Best months to climb this peak is from May to August.  Kanjut Sar I was first climbed in 1959 by Camillo Pellissier, member of an Italian expedition directed by Guido Monzino. In 2010 Russian-American expedition attempted to climb on the Eastern Ridge of Kanjut Sar and reached 7450 m, turning in bad weather
